Near Fall tells the turbulent and inspiring story of the UK wrestling industry, from its soaring highs to its plummeting lows. Featuring in-depth interviews with talent, fans and producers from across the decades, Near Fall chronicles the days of Daddy Haystacks to the 2010’s boom and beyond.

The documentary series will cover:

1965-2000s: World of Sports had a mammoth run on national British television before finishing in 1985. The UK industry continues to survive while legendary British wrestlers, such as William Regal, Davie Boy Smith and Fit Finlay complement the big promotions in America

2010-2020:The UK industry booms with indie promotion across the UK amassing huge fanbases. Go beyond the squared circle with ICW, Progress, Discovery, and other staples of the UK scene, who each offer a different style that makes them stand out from the crowd.

2020–2024: WWE acquires top UK talent and buys the rights to the top UK promotions in a move reminiscent of the American territory buy-outs of the 1980s. The industry also deals with the pandemic and scandal. A bright future is ahead as veteran coaches and new talent prepare for the next UK boom.
